Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026. #BetterPosters is an open-access public resource. We believe academic tools should respect your privacy.

1. No Ads, No Selling Your Data

We do not run advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information under any circumstances. There are no advertising pixels or ad-retargeting networks on this site.

We do use Google Analytics 4 to understand which layouts researchers actually find useful — page views, which templates get downloaded, and which links get clicked. This tells us what to improve. It is measurement, not advertising: we do not use it to build advertising profiles, and the data is not shared with ad networks.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address, which Google uses to approximate your country or city. We never send it your name, email, or anything you type into the submission form. If you prefer not to be counted, any standard content blocker or your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting will stop it — nothing on this site breaks if you do, and every template stays fully downloadable.

2. Privacy-Preserving Download Metrics

To track template adoption and report aggregate metrics to academic grant bodies, our download route debounces repeat requests in volatile memory using transient cryptographic hashes. Raw IP addresses are never logged to persistent storage or written to our database.

3. Community Poster Submissions

When you submit a poster presentation to our Community Showcase:

  • Your email is stored securely and solely used by maintainers to notify you regarding submission review.
  • Submitted images are placed in an isolated quarantine storage bucket until verified by a human maintainer.
  • You retain the right to request deletion or revocation of your showcase submission at any time by contacting our maintainers.
